Our next meeting will be on Monday 11 May at Selby Community Centre on Scott Road, Selby, YO8 4BL, from 7.30pm. There is free parking at the front and it is within walking distance of Selby Rail and  Bus stations. There will be tea and coffee and biscuits available!

Our Area

Selby Green Party covers the Wards within the boundaries of Selby District Council and includes the main towns of Selby, Tadcaster and Sherburn in Elmet and the surrounding rural villages. We come under the Parliamentary Constituency of Selby and Ainsty, which also includes four wards of Harrogate District which are covered at a local level by Harrogate Green Party.

We campaign on local, national and international issues and look to stand candidates in local and general elections.

The next local elections for Selby District Council fall at the same time as the Parliamentary Elections on May 7 2015.

Donate

If you support what we are doing, please consider making a donation.

We in the Green Party don't take money from big businesses, but that means that we do have to ask our supporters and party members to contribute individually to our success.

We will be putting in place soon the means to donate electronically to the Selby Green Party.

In the meantime you can donate simply and easily by sending a cheque, made out to Selby Green Party, to:

Treasurer, Selby Green Party, 38 Armoury Road, Selby,YO8 4AY

Stand for Council

Although we have stood paper councillors in the area in the last few years we have no Green Party councillors on the local District or County Councils yet.  But we aim to change this.

So we need lots of enthusiastic, committed and hard-working candidates. We are particularly keen to ensure diversity amongst our candidates.

Ideally candidates would be paid-up members of the Green Party however this is not essential.  All candidates must support The Green Party's main aims and policies.

Our wish is to give every voter in the Selby District the chance to vote Green in both national and local elections.  However, we need all the help we can get to make this a reality. The next District Councils are on May 7 2015. There are 19 Wards across Selby District and a total of 31 seats up for election.

Becoming a candidate need not be particularly demanding - how much work you put in is up to you.  Please contact Caroline Littler (Chair) on selbygreenparty@outlook.com if you would like to know more about what is involved.

** The deadline for nominations to be submitted to Selby District Council is 4.00pm on Thursday 9 April 2015.**
