What a busy day the 15th was – and the weather? The day began with the official opening of the Allerton Bowers Hall Centenery in Great Preston; a fabulous community space being revitalised by willing volunteers. I had the privilege of meeting TWO King’s Scouts, helping out and being ambassadors for the local group.

Then on to the Josh Wedding Parade walking through Micklefield and culminating in a traditional ‘farce’, dancing, singing and stalls – only won water on the bottle-pull, but got a selfie with the blushing the ‘bride’ Gavin! An important heritage event lovingly preserved by Dennis Best and his loyal team.

And finally the Kippax Gala – rain tried to put a damper on the amazing Parish Council event but couldn’t dampen our spirits. I met the most politically-aware and prodigiously talented 13 year-old, Charlie who plays cornet in the Kippax Band – he pledged to vote Green as soon as he is able! The future is very bright if he is any indication of it!
