Where Greens are Elected, everyone wins

The Green Party is growing fast. We now represent people in Westminster and in a record number of local councils, as well as in the London Assembly.

Selby and District Green Party is working hard to offer positive change in our community. Since 2021, we have gained seats at Parish and Town Council level in Sherburn in Elmet, South Milford and Selby Town. In the new North Yorkshire Council, there are now five Green Party councillors - there really is no better time to get involved.

We are working progressively on local issues to improve the lives of all people in Selby District and to improve our local environment.

As part of the Green Party of England & Wales, we share a deep concern for social and environmental justice, expressed throughout our national policies. We believe that fairness is worth fighting for.

Get involved with the Selby and District Green Party today so that we can achieve so much more for our community.

The Green Party Political Programme sets out what Greens are in politics to do: to end the system that keeps hurting the environment and all of us who rely on it - and to build a better alternative.

This Programme isn't like other parties' manifestos, it has not been squeezed through focus groups and stripped down according to the latest polling. Instead it has been built from policies proposed and voted on by our members, looking to secure the long term future of the places and people they love.

It's a vision of a better world, and together we can deliver it.

Our Area

Selby & District Green Party covers the Wards within the boundaries of Selby District Council and includes the main towns of Selby, Tadcaster and Sherburn in Elmet and the surrounding rural villages. We come under the Parliamentary Constituency of Selby and Ainsty, which also includes four wards of Harrogate District which are covered at a local level by the Harrogate Green Party.

We campaign on local, national and international issues and look to stand candidates in local and general elections.
