On the 8th of June I took my parents to Ripon to lend our support to the protest against the removal of veteran beech trees from the memorial park on Kirkgate, by Ripon Cathedral. This has been a long-running protest with which I have been personally involved for many months – it was heartening to see so many people at the Protest Picnic and later at the Midnight Vigil against this incredibly controversial project. I spoke to Brian McHugh of the Byline Times about my ongoing support of the protest.
