As Co-ordinator for Litter Free Leeds in Allerton I organise community litter-picks and on the morning of the 9th took a small but doughty group down the the Linesway to collect litter. An excellent haul of 9 bags and two new ‘wombles’ initiated into the local group.
In the afternoon I visited the Old Girls School in Sherburn in Elmer’s Summer Fair and spent a lovely couple of hours sampling the products and crafts, enjoying the tombola and raffle (even won a prize!) and of course treating myself to a delicious cake and coffee from the tearoom itself. This community space and library is a fantastic local resource – had a great chat with the Hedgehog Rescue ladies too.
