10th June – visiting the Kippax Wombles to return borrowed pickers (Kippax, Methley, Great Preston and Allerton groups often work together) and delivering a ‘rescue’ tree to Ash Tree Primary School. The afternoon spent crushing and cleaning litter-picked cans for a special project – more of which later.

An auspicious day on the 5th of June – a trip to Northallerton to hand in my nomination papers as Green Party Parliamentary candidate for the 2024 General Election. In the afternoon undertook a Hedgerow Survey in Mickletown – one of a series, again, in preparation for the opposition to the quarry proposal.

4th of June spent in Allerton, firstly with the Allerton In Bloom team clearing village planters of last year’s annuals in preparation for new planting over the next few weeks.Then completed several ‘graffiti cleaning’ tasks that I have seen building up over recent weeks – bins, telephone exchanges and bus-shelters restored to their former glory!

Very pleased to be making a video on the 2nd for the Green Party in Leeds announcing that we had reached the 25% target of our Crowdfunder. The evening was spent clearing a footpath in Allerton Bywater of overgrown vegetation so that a community litter-pick could take place safely.
