Election successes in Selby District

Selby and District Green Party is delighted to announce that following the local elections taking place across North Yorkshire this week 2 more elected Greens are representing their local areas in Selby District.

Joining Peter Baumann who was elected to Sherburn in Elmet Parish Council in October, is Cherry Waters elected to South Milford Parish Council and Tom Beharrell elected to Selby Town Council. Although Selby and District Green Party didn’t take a North Yorkshire Council seat on this occasion, we had a record number of candidates standing, and enabled 1,433 residents from across the district a Green vote. Congratulations to Arnold Warneken of Ainsty Greens, who has been a massive driving force for Selby Greens, for his success in Ouseburn. We now have 5 Green councillors on the new North Yorkshire council. If you want to see the Green Party succeed in Selby next time, get involved!
